Thread: Loss of Memo Icon After 4.7.0.114 Hybrid install

I changed OS to the 4.7.0.114 Hybrid which has dramatically improved the performance of my Storm.

However, after upgrading, I noticed that my Memo icon has disappeared. When I view the back-up IPD files on Desktop Manager, the Memo records are grayed out, still showing the number of records and amount of data.

A message on the screen states that "Databases that are unavailable on the list have been configured for wireless synchronization or wireless back-up and are read only. You cannot restore or clear them"

Does anyone know how I can restore the memo icon and data? Appreciate any assistance or suggestions that can be offered.

you should be able to go through the process again, but it will be quicker...

Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader…..

Dbl Click the Loader application:


A wizard like the pics below will appear.

Check memo to be installed and continue with the instructions.
It may be under Blackberry tools or something to that effect.

once it is loaded on it should recognize the memo files you have on the device

When I go to Apploader and click "Loader", the box menu that appears only shows new Applications that I downloaded after the installation of the hybrid. I do not see a full menu of all the apps.

I tried highlighting "Other Required Applications and Libraries" and clicked "Add". This bring ups a list of all the files in the AppLoader folder. I highlighted MemoPad-Java.alx and clicked "Open". However, that results in an error message that states "No additional applications designed for your device were found".

I would really appreciate any other suggestions you have as I have frequently used info in the Memo folder I would like to access.

Are you sure that your memo pad is not just hidden? Did you try the seach on your BB.

If they are on you phone, you should be able to find them here.

I uninstalled the Hybrid and reinstalled. On the second installation, Memo Pad showed as an option and the configuration is now working.
