Thread: JlL Commander - Reset to Factory?

Does 'Reset to Factory" delete:
1. Contacts?
2. Pictures & Music?
3. Anything on the SD card?

No a reset to factory resets all of your settings back to factory settings, i.e. wallpapers, ringtones, etc. It doesn't erase anything.

Oh I see, no data gets erased w/ Factory reset.
What about with Wipe? Does my data get deleted, or just the OS?

hmm, ive never personally used it but i thought the reset to factory actually reset your phone to how you received it... deleting the contacts and emails and pictures but ill do some research and come back

i was right... reset to factory clears all data on the phone

or you could:

go to options>security>general>menu>wipe hadheld

Damn...thanks for that info Laney...I've never used it before either. Guess its a good thing cuz obviously i was misinformed! My apologies oli. Guess that's another good reason to do a backup.

I just had a weird thing happen...i lost my 1X but still had EV! That's a first for me

funny thing is when i was looking for the answer i found a youtube video on the jl commander "reset to factory" and it warns you that your data is being cleared to make sure you have backed up your stuff before it actually does it so when you ever tried to use it you would have figured it out

too bad my work computer has no volume, idk what the heck the guy was saying lol but the vid helped

I haven't found it to erase anything on the SD card ---just to clarify. But if you're really concerned, just remove the SD card before you do the wipe(s). Can't say the same about contacts....I don't think they are stored on the SD card. Hope this helps.

Dammit...i think some of those morons at CB are takin the word 'Crack' a little too seriously...

if you wipe your device you are deleting the os and you'll loose all the data stored in your phone, none of those procedures affect the sd card data...

i want 2 speed my phone back up, im gettin tired of how slow it has gotten.....would this help?

I would also take a look at how many 3rd party apps you are running before I started to try this method of wiping your device.

Some applications may cause your device to become less responsive over time.

thanx, im upgrading now......one of the main reasons i wanted 2 "reset" or what ever is cuz i found a lot of junk/unknown files on my bb, some are from apps that ive gotten rid of and some i dont know if i actually need or not lol ill let yall know after i finish.....thanx again
