    Question Silly question

I'm running the original leaked .141 on my Storm and it seems ok. I guess what I want to know before trying either the .132 or .141 v5.1 hybrid is what is the benfit of the hybrid compared to the unaltered leaked OS? What's actually different about the hybrid version that makes it better? Thanks.

    Good question.

If your happy with .141 stay where you are.

The hybrid has fixed the quicklaunch and screenlock bug. Its basically taken the best traits from .109 and up.

Like I said if your happy stay if your bored try it out

i just copy and pasted the java files over .141 , so i should still have the .141 radio

.132 for some reason was a big battery drain for me ..... and my calls seem better with .141

Can we use crackutil for the same result?

According to one of the posts it seems that the only difference between hybrid V5 and V5.1 is the substitution of the .132 GPS and GAS CODs instead of .141 CODS. Correct?
If so, I can just replaced those on my phone with CrackUtil without having to do a full software reload, right? Is there any advantage to doing the whole reload instead of just swapping the CODS in with CrackUtil? Using CrackUtil is a whole lot quicker and if I remember correctly I don't have to re-initiate all the 3rd party stuff afterwards....
Thanks again - I have the v5-132 installed and have been liking it a lot over the last couple of days. :-)

yes crackutil should work just fine it's not the easiest program to use and if used wrong can cause all kinds of problems. If you comfortable go for it yes it would be faster. If your liking v5 there is no reason to change. according to BBC this will correct the memory leak some people were having.

worked for me. although you might want to use blackberry master control. you can load both modules at one time.

    wiping

the only reason I want to wipe is because I am getting serious battery drainage on 141 5.1. I have to revert back to 141 v5 and use the 109 radio I think all though the the 141 isnt bad. I just did this last night think I should wait a day before and let it settle in before I go back to v5?

If you wipe just make sure you backup everything here is a how to video:http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/h...lications.html

Try this for your battery problems. Drain your battery all the way to dead (past the point where the radio turns off). Then fully recharge. This semi-flashes your battery has helped many people increase battery life.
