For install instruction to load any carriers 95XX OS on your BB:

    Hi.
I downloaded 7 installed .141 last week (leaked version) then found out it is now official. Is it EXACTLY the same? In other words does it make any difference to my phone?
If it does, I no longer have a vendor.xml file to remove as I done this last week when I installed the unofficial version.

It is probably the exact same version. If you want to make sure you could just install the Official Release. I believe the only diff is that the Official OS is branded by VF (vendor.xml) but that is it.

How do I do this (without sounding dumb!)
I tried this yesterday using DM, It shows 2 versions of .141 informing me 1 is the current installed version. But I cant tell which is the leaked & which is the official.
I then downgraded to .78 then tried again to install .141. Again 2 versions were shown, & one said preferred so i installed that one. But I cant see a vendor.xml file. So have I installed the leaked one again even though DM reckons it is the preferred version?

When I click on the software update on DM, two current versions show:-
The first says "Blackberry 4.7 (current)" and is ticked and has the full description "This update includes enhancements to your Blackberry device software. If you download it over the wireless network, charges may apply"
(This is the same statement as the two downgrades listed above it for versions .78 &.65)
The other says "Blackberry 4.7.0.195 for 9500 (current)" is not ticked and has the description "Local Installation of Blackberry 4.7.0.195 for 9500"

Can I assume the one that is ticked & has the full description is the one I have installed & the last option (the unticked one) even though it says it is the current one is the leaked version?

I hope you understand my ramblings!

I would uninstall both, Start/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs/ Highlight each device software and uninstall, and exit. Then install the OS you want to install to your PC. Run apploader, C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/Apploader and delete the vendor.xml file and double click on the Loader.exe program and follow the on screen prompts. Remeber to always backup...

Done all this. Removed BOTH. reinstalled OS. connected my storm to DM and both versions were STILL there!
Oh well, I will assume they are Identical so will leave it as it is.
