Thread: After install my edge stays lowercase

After doing the new Hybrid install my edge won't change to EDGE at all. Is there an easy fix for this?

Try to go Options=>Mobile Network menu=>Diagnostics Test menu=>Run

You can see after this if you are connected to bis and if yes you'll have service book sended by the server to your phone.

You running on AT&T or T-Mobile? I run the 9530 on AT&T and have this problem all the time. Mendez777 idea somethings help. Sometimes I go to the same setting and change Network Technology to 1XEV, let it set up and then change it back to GSM/UMTS and 2G only. That sometimes works.

I find I pop in and out of EDGE/edge without cause when opening different applications. If I let the phone sit for awhile it seems to "heal" itself, but it is frustrating. As long as I can get EDGE back I am a happy camper. I am thinking I am going to have to live with this until they come out with the "Storm" variant on AT&T.

Just glad to have the phone.

I used .90 radio code and so far the past 24 hours no edge always been EDGE. I get EDGE when sending mms and online and haven't had a drop yet

I had the same problem. All I did, was follow verizon's instructions.
Go to options>Manage connections> Change to 1XEV, then GSM. x3[Three times]

And it worked.

This was referring to t-mobile though...is that who you are through?

I couldn't see T-Mobile anywhere. Nonetheless, try my method, it helped plenty of people.
