Thread: OS 5.0.0.591 for the 9530 Findings and Fixes

you know the drill. i'm downloading as we speak. about time we got something new!

Start up time is still hovering around 3 minutes
Been running now for a few hours with no memory leak whatsoever
Battery seems to be holding its own fairly good
GPS Nav alot more responsive now, loads alot faster as well
Noticable difference with the keyboard over Lyricidal's .643 hybrid. Much more responsive and faster
Berryweather takes a little longer to load, no big deal
Browser has lost a little speed, Opera Mini 5 still takes care of this issue
SMS quirks have been fixed
Everything now lines up in the message box
Bluetooth working much better

Running 3 themes - Archaic, Tree of hope, natemz BBZen, and apps listed below,
-BB Messenger
-BB Maps
-Berry Weather
-Calendar Pro
-Docs to Go
-Lockdown
-Meter Berry
-Poynt
-SmrtGuard
-all other pre loaded apps
-memory was at 30 mb at startup, still holding at 29.3 3 hours later

All in all, not much difference from Lyricidal's .643 to this leak, other than a sloer browser and a faster keyboard with the 9530 leak.

i must say that this leak solved the biggest prob for me.. my memory.. its been loaded for 12 hrs now.. and my memory is still @ 30.3 and even goes up for 31.5 @ times..

the overall bb browser could be better.. but ill just wait to get one of the newer phones for that.. but i am very content @ the moment.. every thing runs smoother.. i like the size of the font in the keyboard better on this one.. and typing speed is noticeably increased.. along with the accuracy.. i dont see any reason for anyone to want to hold out from this leak..

Thanks for the input guys. I'll give it a shot tonight and post my findings. I'm on 328 so hoping for some nice tweaks.

As Josh said. Its much more responsive than .419 but not Much better than lyrics .643. Memory drops a lil more than lyrics .643 to me not but not much. However that could be because I did wipe nor shrink before adding this 1. Too excited. All in all gr8t build.

Installing the leak last night and I have to say that it seems to be a little faster than it was before...my 9530 has been really lagging the past few weeks so maybe anything would have made a difference...

It's been a long time since I had a straight os on my phone.Going to give it a try while we wait for the hybrid masters to work their magic!

By the way, BBM between two people works just fine.



Thanks to Orio...temp fix for keyboard in a group chat is to do the following...

While in BBM group, press BB key and select New Chat from the list.

The keyboard will then appear and at the top it will ask you for a new chat name.

Either choose cancel or hit the backup hard key at the bottom.

The box will disappear and the keyboard will remain while your in the group.

If you back out of the group and then go back in, you will have to do the same thing to get the keyboard back.



Keep in mind that some issues with this fix are:

When you press the number or symbol key, the keyboard continues to show letters.
The numbers and symbols work, but you have to know where to press to get them. (kind of annoying)

Mines average speed...I am not impressed with BBM. I find it very laggy.

I have had one reboot as well, which has not happened in a long time.

Of course, it's a leak...so I can't complain too much. I will give it another day or two and then decide on whether I will go back to the official 328 I had on it.

328 was pretty solid, just the memory was mega low all the time.

I am surprised you don't use one of the great hybrids out there.They really make the phone much more enjoyable. The .643 browser in the current hybrids for example is way superior to any other browser to date.Besides mixing and matching cod files keeps it exciting,even with the occasional paperweight mode thrown in.

I am actually considering trying one out. Which one would you recommend? Is it the one that has the .643 browser?

I always stuck with BBC's and no others. I am up for something new :147:

My Three favorites right now are in no order
Lyric,
and from our new partner site Driphter.com,
Willyboy V1.2 and The Archetect V1.7. Keep in mind these were all made to run over the older .419 so we are waiting for updates with this leak!!

If your going to try one Neo, use Lyric's .643 build. Haven't seen it here in BBOS but found it at Driphter. Excellent build.

Installed .591 and then .643 over it with no issues. Slight drop in memory but all apps are working well. Radio is stronger. Now get 90 dBm where previously only had 100. Browser is definitely quicker and the camera is fast with good color rendering. Larger keyboard is a bonus. :yo:

Not crazy about .591 straight,will probably try lyrics .643 over it tonight while we wait for the real thing!!
