I'm waiting to hear the results of all you tweakers installing v4 over .141.
I can't believe no one has tried it yet. Or have they?

I have v4 over .141, and it shows .132 and platform .162, so I really don't know how much .141 is really being used. With this combo I really see no difference than with .132 v4

    QL works...screen lock works.

not much to report...sorry been running this since about 11:30 am

    memory consistent with .132/v4

has anyone had any issues using Tmobile? I'm currently on .132 and its the best and most stable so far, except for the tcp issues. Is the EDGE constant?

Hi Johnny welcome to BBOS. I have not seen any reports yet of someone using .141 yet with T-Mobile. I'd be curious though since in my opinion the radio code for 141 is the best I've used thus far.

.141 on 9500 running on tmobile, the radio is very stable as good as on .132, i think the batt life needs to be improbed, in general is a good one

    Updated Findings for .141

So I posted my initial finding .141 late last night. After running it now for 14 hours the two issues that I had, mainly battery life and memory leak have stabilized.

My memory which was down to about 35mb last night has settled in at 42.5mb. Not quite as good as v4 but a very good number nonetheless.

Battery life: After a full charge and using the phone quite heavily today (90 minutes of call), 40 emails, web browsing, Pandora, etc. my batter has only dropped to 83%.

So in my opinion this the best OS have used to date. Browser speed for example has been averaging 960kb which is crazy fast compared to v4 where I was getting around 500kb. There is no doubt the .141 SFI file is the best I've used.

Hope my findings help some of you out.

Doesn't the full .141 come with a .174 platform? If so, does running the v4 installer replace the .174 sfi with a .162 sfi (from 4.7.0.132)? If not, is anyone running v4 with the .174 platform?

Installed .141 this am. Erased all of my 3rd party apps booted up at 43 mbs of memory at 7:44am. Now after very heavy use, I'm at 26.1 mb. Which I am happy with* The web browser is fantastic, the battery life I think is the best I've seen. I travel with my job and I was in some podunk towns today and I felt the signal was very good, better than usual.

*Here's my negative (and I dont want to come off bitchy, I just need to vent) I spent some pretty good cash on the 3rd party apps that I deleted. A lot of them I use regularly for my job (some important to my day, some to just get me through the day) I dont feel like I should have to delete them just to have stable memory. And I know that memory is not a big deal BUT my phone tanks on just about every os I have tried so far to 3, 4, even 0 and it absolutely effects the performance of the phone at that level.

SO my findings r... if you do not have a lot of things going on on ur phone like I do... .141 is awesome and I find it to be as good if not a little better than .132

Thanks for letting me get that off my very expensive chest

Yes, the full .141 will give you .174 PL# as a result of the radio code. Since radio code = PL#

If you run v4 over .141 it will it replace the radio code with the one in .132 (which is .162).

However, you can run v4 with .141 radio code by just swapping out the .132 SFI file with .141 SFI file.

    Hope that makes sense.

Fantastic post Mrs. God, thanks for sharing that with us. There is some good news, not for now, but when they do release 5.0 for the Storm I've read that you'll have in excess of 100mb of available memory to start off with. So that should fix the issue with your memory leak. In the meantime send your bill for last apps C/O VZW for reimbursement

Thank you JL... when do you sleep? That last sentence is funny. I couldnt even get vzw to reimburse me for the extra $457 they took from my checking account last month when they double dipped my monthly bill. :boggled:
