    4.7.0.141 leaked java Findings Thread

Has anyone tried this yet? I read some stuff at CB put me on the fence. If no one has tried I will do the right thing and be the guina pig(i suck at spelling).

Alright you twisted my arm I'll do it. updates to follow

Really no one else is going to give this a go... iknow its for the 9500 but its been treating me as well as v4...i thought lyri, stief or jl would have tried

Ok now the real stuff .

    1) on 132v4 shrunk booted with about 42MB, with this shrunk booting with almost 50MB. All the same apps so that makes me worry, the java file i got was only about 41.3 i think prior to the shrink.

    2) everything is operational. visited BBOS from the phone loade quick. Everything seems really close to v4.

3)Camera- the camera loads and takes pic's no faster than v4 but when you take the pic and it saves that is probably about 2x as fast as v4.

4)the keyboard in landscape seems bigger could be me, could someone confirm or deny?

    5) accelormeter, same maybe a smidge faster, maybe a smidge slower.

All of this is after only one batt pull. I am going to do one more and then let is sit. If i get nothing but good I will leave it at two. Hope someone else gets to try this. I have had none of the problems some people have gotten but I dont run their apps
    either. So NEXT

    almost forgot MMS works

unfortunately i have to head to work, so i cant try right away... v4 didnt give any noticable performance improvement over my 3.5/132 sfi build. so i suppose this is worth a try. Would so much rather wait for the radio for this to go with v4, but ill take em as i can get em! hehe

Have had the 141 java for just about 15 minutes so far, major noticable difference is transition speed and fluidness of the accelerometer.... wow it is great, speed is still there, browser no noticable difference which is good, will see about memory and battery agter 6 hrs or so, keyboard still the same not the large keys, but wow the transition speed just wow.....

I took the v4 folder completely out of the loader files and put it on my desktop...then put .141 java in that folder.

Ive had it running for a few hours and I like it. Ive tried .132 by itself and didnt really care for it. So than I went to .132/5.0 Hybrid by Lyicidal and that made it worth while. But since Ive been using this .132 Radio and .141 Java I believe this is a pretty good combo by itself. Ill play with it more and see how it is with the 5.0 Java by Lyicidal later this week.

    Findings:
Accelerometer is faster thats for sure
Memory is holding but will have to see later today
Battery life still need to wait on

Install worked so I'll play with it and report back.

    Did you install over 132?

Think I'll give it a shot.

    Let you know.

132 takes "FOREVER" to initiliaze on this phone. Much longer than most as I recall.

I didnt think the 132v4 was that great, 141 still has issuse (and it may be all the mixed pieces we keep playing with and moving around), what i was refering to was its very fluid going in and out of apps more so than 132, no lag no clock at all. I did remove VistaComplete about an hour ago and Ven is very fast, memory after an hour i'm sad to report is still dropping but i dont think as bad let you know tomorrow. from 43.5 after removing theme to 35.5 after 1 hour of limited use, 6 or 7 emails 1 phone call browser and opening a few apps, Nothing else seams really different. I did notice already once when unholstering white band at bottom for a second and switching from landscape to portrait a snowey screen again for just a second. this has happened to me a few times since 132 and still on 141, this issue may not be a part of java though... I dont know. Overall i think it may be pretty good and cant wait for the full 141

The accelerometer wont get much faster if any, its speed and color and such is all from the sfi file, so hopefully .141 will have a nice radio but as of now, im not gonna put .141 until there is a good hybrid with it

Yep done my multiple battery pulls on both, got rid of weatherbug last week went to weathereye, not as many features but much quicker and not the drain on the battery. Also removed Vigo on 132 because i heard it was a drainer but no difference, figure it had to be the theme, we will see. With 132 i was daily going from 43 to 14 never had any issues but thought the drop over 9-10 hours was kinda drastic, so one by one i'm removing things to see where the loss is coming from.
And the sfi file is from 4-9-09, i dont think it's 132 i think it's 109 but not sure how to tell as it is not showing up on Crackutil

PS CAN'T WAIT FOR A FULL 142...... and yes i'll stop yelling

My results - So far not so bad.
    - Even without shrinking bit more memory at boot up. 42.7 MB Before any use. Holding steady after about 15 Minutes - A surprise! After a call and some Browsing went UP tp 43.2!
    - Browser lightning quick in Firefox est!
    - Radio is fine 1XEV
    - Camera about the same
    - Accelerometer great as with 3.5 and is really snappy. Perhaps a bit faster.
    - Keys seem a bit bigger in landscape - May be an illusion because someone else mentioned it.

Overall first impressions are this is a great piece of work. I will keep it and report after a couple of days. Interested if others find the same.
