Thread: What OS is most stable?

My dad has a 9530 that I have spent numerous time unlocking and changing settings on it to make it work well on ATT. You know had to load service books, and change settings to make the internet work.

He, my dad, is not real tech saavy, but dying to have a good OS on his 9530 Storm. I would be open to advice. . .

He wants it to be more dependable than now and is currently running a 4.7 OS

Try eg lyricidal's hybrids, such as the 484/497 - it is said to be great stuff!

I personally am running Verizon's most recent Official OS which is 5.0.0.328 and it works well.

When you go to do the OS upgrade try using the following this guide for any help: http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/b...es-videos.html

All in all, one person's best OS is another persons nightmare. So spend some time experimenting with them and see which one is a good fit for your device.

Keep in mind that it can take up to 48 hrs. for an OS to stabilize on the device. So have patience.....

Well, the hybrid builders always try to improve some things - so it could be that you end up with a fantastic browser but buy it in with a bit more energy consumption (battery drain)...

Thanks for the awesome array of possibilities. I feel a bit more confident about it now that I have played with 5.0 a bit. I had been afraid to try, as I depend on mine too much

that is what scares me as he is not gonna take any bad, he just wants all good instead of the good with the bad!

Actually just a way of thinking-Seize today, dont put things off, as your never guaranteed tommorrow!

BTW NEO have you heard of anyone using the official 5.0.x.461 for the 8900?? Just saw it somewhere today, thinking about it. Takes so long since I have like 10-15 apps to register each time.

Wow, so even better than the quoted film like that motto very much myself!

Hybrids yes or no - typically hybrids imho are better in some points but worse in others, so maybe it is not what you want here - since in case of a hybrid you have to chose a trade off (normally)...

No I have not heard of anyone as of yet using that OS. I will look around when I get back later and see what I can find.

I'm leaving...(*my office*)...again LOL

I can use all the help I can get, loaded it today from Jersey, came from 4.6.0.231, and still trying to put my BB back together again, sigh.
