Question about BB Maps and GPS (this is OS related)

I was wondering if anyone thought that since I never install BB Maps when I upgrade my OS's if this could be the reason I can't get geo-tagging to work for the pictures I takeand why GPS won't work for me with Google Maps...

Any thoughts would be appreciated since It would really help if I could find my way around the new area I was recently assigned to at work...

It's very possible that by not having BB Maps installed your geotagging will not work. I'm not 100% sure but there is an easy way to find out, install BB Maps. Not having BB maps should have no effect on google maps. You might want to check your GPS settings by going into options - advanced options - GPS. Your setting should be:
    GPS Data Source: Device GPS
    GPS Settings: Location On
    Location Aiding: Enabled

This was from Stratustray about a month ago, not sure what map program you need but i would guess bbmaps

    To enable geotagging...

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To enable geotagging when you take a picture with the camera:

    1. Open the Camera app
    2. Click the blackberry button
    3. Click "Options"
    4. Set the "Geotagging:" line to "Enabled"
    5. Select "Yes" at the prompt "Geotagging adds GPS coordinates to new photos. Are you sure you want to enable this?
    6. Change whatever other options you want while you are on this screen, and then finally press the blackberry button and select "Save"

Oh and don't forget GPS must be enabled in your phone as well ;-)

Are you indoors or outside? Google maps has a difficult time locating anything if you are inside.

I've tried both. However when I upgraded to .132 I installed BB Maps and goetagging is working and so is google maps. Google maps is accurate enough to tell which side of my house I'm sitting on. It says accurate to 3 meters but it's accurate to about 3 feet it looks like...

Wow that's awesome. Best I have seen is accurate to 5 meters. Glad that you got it working again!
