Thread: Tethering using BBC's V10 on .328

Hi,

After upgrading to 328 with BBC's V10 included I've tried to tether my Storm via BlueTooth which I've been doing for the last year. Suddenly it doesn't work. I called VZW tech support and they told me they've never supported BT that they only supported via USB. I said that was news to me since I'd been using BT tethering with my BlackBerry's for 2-3 years.

Anyway, how do I get it to work again?

While I can't tell you for sure, my immediate thought is to make sure you have your computer paired to your BlackBerry still. That's the only thing I know to check.

Are you using a tetherprogram or using the vzw tether?

I'm not using tethering software of any kind. I've not had to use any tethering software in the past.

?? Then how are you tethering if you are paying vzw you have to have vzaccess manager...

In the past I've connected to the Blackberry via Bluetooth and when i opened the browser it would take me to a Verizon sign-on page. Or I could call Tech Support and have them enable Internet access for my PC.

So, I've had them enable that a few days ago, but the my Mac gets an error saying that I have an old Blackberry that may not be to do this. It's worked several times since I've had the Storm. I only use it occasionally, say 2-3 times per year. But this time has been especially troublesome.

here's how I have it set-up. and btw this is a carry over from my 8800 on T-Mobile. I've set-up a connection via bluetooth, that has a dialer that goes to wap.voicestream.com u/n: gprs, psswd: gprs It uses a script i downloaded that called Blackberry CID1.

When I called VZW this last time, they were totally clueless about ANY of this. I'm quite frustrated because I've been on VZW for over a year and used it a couple of times.

Does anybody know what I'm talking about here?

Sorry for my ignorance, but you have changed devices and from PC to Mac?
Maybe an issue with the script?

there is now a version of vzaccess that works on MAC let me see if I can find the link.. you will need to put the tether package on your vzw plan and then you will be able to connect using this when/if I can find a link
