Thread: Unseen OS?

I came across this video of the Storm over on CB, but what gets me is how the OS is. The keyboard slides up when ready for texting, emailing and such. Looks like typing lag is so much better! hmm weird...its dated October 20, 2008. so its cant be a new os...i dont remember what the .75 os was like but cant be that the accelo is decently quick, no iphone, but still decent, so idk what that is

No not a new OS, i am wondering if it was RIM's first shot at it and then they striped everything back down bc VZW was pushing for a quick release....... Thats my guess

WTF... yea definately aint no OS we've seen.... way to quick, way to smooth... the keyboard sliding in and out all smooth- like too ... Something aint right!!! Why have WE the end user not seen this??

stieflers got a point, it was probably one of the first os's but vzw pushed to hard to have it out, so that one in the video was probably what they wanted it to do but had bugs, so they stripped down and made it "useable" so it can be released. but i could be completely wrong lol

Maybe it will be possible for a 5.0 launch?

As Radio and CX have stated (on CB, and both work for RIM) the best of the Storm has yet to be seen. So perhaps this is a future OS yet to be released. Either way I like it. Nice find.

not flaming you jlevy...but they have both said they do work for rim yet when you mention that they have not supported that or that they have never show any real proof of what they said you get banned. i am not saying they dont know their shit but they have never proved they work for rim i could tell you i live in cali and own my own multi million buisness on here but until you see proof its just said ya know what i mean...sorry again not flaming just those guys make me angry

Radio and CX dont live in Canada LOL , but with that they are not really allowed to talk bout much on forums, it was an agreement that they had agreed on

It's just kind of disapointing watching that video from Oct. of what the Storm should be like and what we received. But in actuality the Storm has still not lived up to any of the commercials that show it in action. Worst part is if you complain all they do is say they will exchange or replace it.
Wonder how many problems the pre will have when it launches or do you think it wil live up to expectactions on launch. Just curious

You know when I say something I speak from first hand experience or at least from verified sources. Nonetheless, I know CX and Radio personally. The info I get from them is not through forums. I'll just leave it at that.

You know, it's funny how many people say the iPhone accelerometer is really quick; however I tested this last night on my iPod Touch, and I can safely say it's not any quicker than it is on the Storm. The transition effects hide some of the jerkiness, but in the end, it lags considerably. Some of the OpenGL eye candy on the iPhone hides some of the lag, but it's still there. Similar to how motion blur is used to hide jagged lines in games. It's an optical illusion. There is no way an accelerometer will even be instant, it's a limitation of how they operate.

really? my ipod touch flips the second i turn it...most the time its in landscape before i even have time to turn it all the way
