I am using a Storm 9500 with existing v 220.127.116.11 (platform 18.104.22.168) and reside in South Africa. We have not yet had the release of the Storm 2 ..... ( and the latest OS that would fix up many problems) ...... .what OS should I download (that has been used by u guys,,and can posetively recommend). I love the phone...BUT... battery power is very short....I have an issue with the screen lock...it always unlocks the phone....and then usuall speed issues...a few "hour glass/ clock...thingy that looks like the phone is busy....and i dont have a lot of apps etc running.....will the new OS help any of these problems??? cheers
BlackberryOS.com - Downloads
If you look there you can see official releases and leaked operating software.. Once you click on that you can just find the 9500 and it will show all available OS for your device. I would suggest one of the higher 5.0 builds. Hope this helps
please see also your user messages :-)
What I could recommend is the 22.214.171.1245 (to be found here: BlackberryOS.com - Downloads - 9500_126.96.36.1995), I have used it immediately when it became available and it was a major step coming from 4.7.x.x - it's much more responsive. 425 should fix many of the issues you are describing!

If I were you, I would go for 188.8.131.525..., very good release of the software.., light years better than the other ones that have been put out over the last 6 months.. I've been using it for a while now, and no probs whatsoever...
It's also the "official" release for Vodafone Australia..., so it must be a sound version..
Needs a little bit of getting the hang of as it is a bit different from the 4.0.0.??? versions...
I would also advise that you backup, then flatten your phone first with something like JL_Cmder.., keeps it all running smooth...

The Storm 2 has been available for the last month already in SA.

Thanks for the answers.
Do all OS download in english as default? I notice different ones for different markets and hope (pray) they dont just have the native language pack in them.
by the way, im upgrading this today so will let you know how it goes.
typically you will find multi-language packs, some with others without support for e.g. East Asia...
