( and the latest OS that would fix up many problems) ...... .what OS should I download (that has been used by u guys,,and can posetively recommend). I love the phone...BUT... battery power is very short....I have an issue with the screen lock...it always unlocks the phone....and then usuall speed issues...a few "hour glass/ clock...thingy that looks like the phone is busy....and i dont have a lot of apps etc running.....will the new OS help any of these problems??? cheers

    BlackberryOS.com - Downloads

If you look there you can see official releases and leaked operating software.. Once you click on that you can just find the 9500 and it will show all available OS for your device. I would suggest one of the higher 5.0 builds. Hope this helps

please see also your user messages :-)

What I could recommend is the 5.0.0.425 (to be found here: BlackberryOS.com - Downloads - 9500_5.0.0.425), I have used it immediately when it became available and it was a major step coming from 4.7.x.x - it's much more responsive. Please check here for the how-to: http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/b...es-videos.html

425 should fix many of the issues you are describing!

If I were you, I would go for 5.0.0.425..., very good release of the software.., light years better than the other ones that have been put out over the last 6 months.. I've been using it for a while now, and no probs whatsoever...

It's also the "official" release for Vodafone Australia..., so it must be a sound version..

Needs a little bit of getting the hang of as it is a bit different from the 4.0.0.??? versions...

I would also advise that you backup, then flatten your phone first with something like JL_Cmder.., keeps it all running smooth...

guys i am new on the forum too and was going to ask much the same question.
    Thanks for the answers.
Do all OS download in english as default? I notice different ones for different markets and hope (pray) they dont just have the native language pack in them.

typically you will find multi-language packs, some with others without support for e.g. East Asia...

I have been using the 5.0.0.425 since it came out . Best yet !!
FYI , I`m on Vodacom based in Johannesburg and I`m sure you are well aware Voda RSA has not had an update since launch of the storm.

STOP PRESS : The latest Os 5.0.0.841 which became available a couple of days ago is better still. No regrets !!
