Im still new in the upgrading thing so im asking is it worth upgrading from the basic OS to this one ? whats better about it ? Are there any major problems ?

Got to say, this OS is awesome! I have been holding EDGE since release! I am TMO unlocked and everything works like it is suppose to and more!

how? i keep losing EDGE when im on bbm for a while or sending alot of emails....

Downloaded it nd love it, i have the blacklines also in the msg's but besides that everything smooth and fast. I noticed longer battery life, memory stayin at 32 mb, and when u lock the phone the screen doesn't react when u touch it, u have to prees the lower keys like menu or one of the phones (it's better for me cuz sometimes my phone manged to call emergincy calls so it wasn't fun) And the last thing is when i go to type msg's nd want to type sth the menu pops out. And the worser thing is that when u type and u type like two "o"s u have to w8 for one to get typed nd the u could type the other one, in the basic OS it just typed the o and whent str8 to the other letter so u could just tap the number 6 six times str8 instead of w8 after the 3 tap a while, but its not a big problem.

I'm having the exact same problem. My #5 speed dial works correctly. #3 also dials #5 and #9 dials my #1. The remaining #'s do nothing. All work correctly in the phone options speed dial list.

I've run two hybrids by Lyricidal..... .428 and now .436 - both installed over the .419 OS. In both cases the speed dial issue remains the same. Seems to be a problem with .419.

BTW - multiple 60+ second battery pulls have not corrected the problem.

Ok, as much as I dreaded the idea of reloading yet once again this week, I have to say, it was well worth it.

Faster response time with the typing,
startup is much faster,
I gained almost 7 MB without shrinking,
so far after 4 hours no memory drain (was a huge issue before)
battery life also seems to be much better.

Can you check your Speed Dial function from the DIAL PAD? In previous release (also .419) this did not work properly and I suspect it hasn't changed. Can't speed dial all saved speed dial numbers and incorrect ones are dialed depending on what numeral is pressed and held. However, works okay when using drop down menus.

Is there anything new/improved in this official version compared to leak that came out a while ago? I've had .419 for a while now, as I'm sure many people have...

.419 leaked or .419 official...same thing. If it was any different it would have a different number than .419

I think I have heard/seen where the Speed dial issue is fixed with either setting as well.
Just as long as you are not using the full qwerty virtual keyboard setting.

Still for people that gotten conformed to the full qwerty keyboard, that could in itself be a deal breaker.
I remember when we all got the full qwerty setting in portrait mode.
It was when 4.7.0.109 was leaked.
That seemed like eons ago. That was the talk of the town well along with the better radio file as well.

Sometimes I find when I get a new SMS I cannot open the message. I have to do a battery pull to get the message to open. I am using the official release from VZW.

Does 5.0.0.419 work for Verizon or do I need to load up .328?
