can I upgrade directly from .121 to .328?

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all ready for the holidays!

A friend of mine just bought a storm and I am wondering if I can upgrade it for him directly from .121 to .328? Or do I need to install stuff from the .191 version?

    Thanks!

    Tamara

As far as i know it should upgrade no problem. If you have bbsak you could wipe device and then load.

download and install the 328 os, back up databases with the desktopmanager and apps with bbsak, shrink any unwanted stuff from os using shrink-a-os, then wipe with bbsak and install.

HUH? mfg: LOL Well I hope I don't have to wipe as I have never done that before and don't want to try it out on someone elses brand new BB. If it's possible I really want to plug it into my pc and download and install .328.......please someone tell me it's that easy.

Install the new OS on your PC, then (recommended) simply open RIMs app loader, it does a backup first and the a wipe for you before installing.

It is that easy HOWEVER - Since it has .191 on it (which was never official) that means the previous owner has been playing with leaked OS. This isn't a bad thing, but I wonder how many different OS have been on the phone previously, and if it has been wiped before. Try the easy way first, and if something isn't right after, you will want to wipe it and redo.

Uninstall .191 from the PC if it's on there, then download .328 here: BlackBerry® Software Updates

Check out the BlackberryOS Help Center - for step-by-step guides.

If you don't have Verizon, check here for the correct official version: BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites

If you run into trouble somehow just let us know; we'll take care of ya! But please give it a try so he can have a working camera!!!
