In fact I really now question the logic of installing hybrids as my phone now is a rejuvinated machine!
    Glad to hear!
And I am having similar thoughts - with a stable and smoothly running 425 I am still tempted to try newer hybrids, yet, haven't dared to do so so far

I also tried installing the "hybrid" of the 9550 .428 on top of .425 per the guide from this forum. Same outcome.

You raise a good point here although it seems a bit weird that my carrier (which btw is Orange IL) service books are not compatible with the OS. Is is possible they are compatible with .328 but not with .402 onward? is there a significant change in the way the OS handles SMS between the various builds?
Is Orange IL supporting the Storm? When I tried to check their web site, I only found them offering 8900 and 9000?!

I seem to browse faster with GPRS but unable to open pages with 3G. What's going on here?

what's happening when you change to 3G - do you get the signal, that it is established?

Yes, I get the 3G and the BB symbol. The browser just keeps saying "Requesting..." but doesn't actually load the pages while it was very fast on GPRS-only mode.

still the case? maybe it was due to the recent outages?
