    2. Wiped my 9500 completely with BBSAK.
    3. Loaded OS through loader.
    4. Restored phone book
    5. At that point I tested SMSs and once again came to the same result: No contact name appears in the SMS header, just their phone number.

    Any insights/ideas????
Maybe a stupid question, but have you tried registering HRT and resending service books?

would have been my next try as well. Could it somehow be a carrier issue, that your carrier's service books aren't compatible with the OS? Just guessing.

I'll try to get some more answers.
Thanks breiti, I truly appreciate the effort.
I also tried installing the "hybrid" of the 9550 .428 on top of .425 per the guide from this forum. Same outcome.

You raise a good point here although it seems a bit weird that my carrier (which btw is Orange IL) service books are not compatible with the OS. Is is possible they are compatible with .328 but not with .402 onward? is there a significant change in the way the OS handles SMS between the various builds?

Not a stupid question at all. Having being so frustrated I skipped resending service books and only did HRT registration.

However, after resending service books, still getting the same result :-(

Ok so i've been running this OS since the day it got released in Australia and yeah its good but man the Memory is not stable at all...i mean yeah i'm running a theme but i never used to drop 10mb in memory in the first 2 hours...im barely running any apps, google maps, google sync, and google search, along with the latest BBM and storm stat....not even facebook or anything...looks like a new hybrid is the way to go....
come on JD give us an update...

    cheers

Install a fresh 402 on the pc
if required copy your relevant language files from a 371 into the java folder of the 402
then use the 425 files and copy them into the java and cdma folder of 402
    if required shrink with shrink-a-os
    install to your berry
Thanks for your advice. Works like a charm. Certainly no more Os 4,7 for me.
In fact I really now question the logic of installing hybrids as my phone now is a rejuvinated machine!

Brightspark or anyone else who's interested in an insane Hybrid for your Storm1's...

im a VIP and Help/Support team for BBhybrids.net and Lyricidal has an awesome new hybrid built with these specs...but there is a catch...you have to be VIP to get it....so either join up or wait and hope....

its got 300+ .428/425/415/411files (in the full Java)

and its the most stable memory i've seen..my storm is running like a Hurricane....

otherwise i recommend trying 95x0 - .328/405 Hybrid which is available to all members of the site....so give it a shot and dont forget your findings....
