I don't seem to get my apps back even though I'm using BBSAK 1.7 which has the Restore Apps button, unlike 1.5. I even lost BB Maps, Memo Pad and Tasks after wiping which is quite weird...

Did you back them up first, then restore the alx?

@sunkast - I backed them up using BBSAK, but when I tried restoring the backup.alx it said the computer didn't recognize the file. I also tried using the App Loader and the same result. I'm on Vista 32-bit...

You should be using app loader to restore the ALX.

When you get to this screen:

Click on the Add button, and select the ALX file.

@sunkast - I did that already before asking here, but when I chose the "backup.alx" file created by BBSAK, the PC refused to recognize it. Does it matter if the file happened to be created with an older version of BBSAK (1.5) ?

Have you looked to see if there is another backup folder.. When you use BBSAK to back up 3rd party it asks you to rename the back up folder
