Thread: Stick with .114 v3 or go to .122 v3.5

Should I stick with .114 v3 or go to what I believe is .122 v3.5

My device runs alright now with v3. I get about 41 megs on fresh boot, battery can last me 24 hours on full load or 48 on slight load. Device lags just a little bit.

Currently stays in 1XEV unless I'm in highly enclosed areas. then it goes to 1X

Is it worth upgrading?

It really depends on the users. Some say the differences are not really noticeable and others do. I would just recommend trying out 3.5 and if you don't like its easy enough to downgrade back to v3.

I tried to go back to v3 from v3.5 because it was worse for me, but after overwriting the files, deleting vendor.xml, etc., and then running Loader.exe, nothing happened.

So I performed a wipe with JL_Commander, loaded .114 Hybrid, and then loaded v3. Now my phone just sucks. After a battery pull I can't even get 20MB free app memory, and it runs down to the low single digits during the day while being holstered (I leave it in my vehicle because I can't take it into the limited area that I work in).

My life needs a giant undo command right about now!

Point is, if v3 is working for you, then you might want to consider leaving well enough alone. The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the hill!

Have you tried wiping again, then reloading v3. Sound to me that something got corrupted in the process.

You might also want to try loading on top of .113 instead of .114 since .113 seems to be more stable for most. Worked for me, but all phones react differently.

Or, just wait for v4 which will be out soon

Wow how much we have grown up in the last month or so, I remember .113 having the screwed up keyboard for the phone and ever since that file was switched out from a previous os as a fix and working, so many generous people with their time (thanks BBC) have been working hard trying to get us the best possible operating system hybrids for our storms. I think the sad part of this whole hybrid thing is there have been a couple reasonably stable leaks like .103 and .109 and the .122 that Bell actually released.... and Verizon sitting around with their thumb or something up their ass. What is up with that. I understand they want to make sure so they dont have to release os after os but really .... over 4 months and nothing from them. And the customer service people there try but they know less than most of the people here, and if you were to call 4 times in the same day and get 4 different reps, you would get 4 different dates about os upgrades. I have 4 friends with storms that wont let me upgrade them (they are woried it will violate their warranty) and out of those 4 2 have returned their phones and went to something different, even after playing with mine they wont "risk it". Straight .122 has been stable (for me) without a battery pull for 434639 seconds, i think thats over 5 days no freeze nothing wrong. Comon Verizon, let the rest of the Storm owners that are to scared or woried about blowing up their phones have what we have. Sorry about the ranting...... feel much better now HA!

I'm not sure what he will be putting out but i would assume there will be parts of .122 in there and to answer your question.... yes, when you install the hybrid the newer and older files will replace the ones that are on your computer's os and thats why the loader will ask you if you want to downgrade as some will be from older os'.

So I should probably uninstall .114 and install .122 and then replace the java folder with the v4 hyrbid files when their out ??
