I thought I would organize all the hybrid downloads into one thread so they can be found easier.

These are all links to the appropriate threads where you can find the download and helpful instructions. Any questions can be posted there as well.

Use the 5.0.0.93 / 4.7.0.141 for the Storm 9500 and you will be amazed. Happiness is ....

Help with Hybrids on 9500 needed

    Hi 6654321ROD,

I am new to all this Hybrid stuff.... Help me out please..... you say use the 5.0.0.90 / 4.7.0.141.... How, where, what.... Where can I find this OS and does 5.0.0.90 refer to - the version of the Hybrid? My limited understanding from this form is that the version5 Hybrid is only for the 9530???

I have the base 131 on my phone and while many things are better i find that connection to the network is intermittent and very poor generally. I have poor signal in my house but when I get no signal on my 9500 I can get 3 bars from another phone in exactly the same spot!!!

That one is for the 9530, you should read up on the findings from different versions in the 9500 Operating Software section

    Notes re installation.

This advice found to work on Storm 9500

Backup Backup and again Backup !

Install 4.7.0.141 to windows first using exe file for the phone..9500 Use loader to upgrade phone.

    c\Program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe

There are recommended java files for the Storm 9500 amongst the files in the above link in a rar, use these.

Use the java files of 5.0.0.93 / 141 by copy and paste and overwrite java files of into:-

    c\Program files\common files\research in motion\shared\loader files\9500 -v4.7.0.141_P4.0.0.174\java

Use shrink Os to clean up the files of unwanted clutter.

Use loader c\Program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe to load phone with hybrid.

After phone has reinitialised do an immediate battery pull and restart.

Everything will function better than ever before including Quicklaunch.

Let us know how you go!

    Crackman 5.1 Updated on 9500

Being a little adventurous I decided to try using CMan 5.1 updated with 148 on my 9500 with the 9500/109 Radio and man am I impressed. I have tried a number of hybrids but this for me is just great. Started with 141 base, replaced radio with 109 and then copy and pasted the CMan 5.1 java files to the loader files . Quicklaunch and other talked about issues are a non existant. No no no.
Correction. GPS from 132 does not work. Gone back to Lyricidal 148/5.0.0.93

Just wanted to add that the 148/5.0 Hybrid is available for the 9500 aswell (although I always tend to post it in 9530, since thats what I own).
Neolantis, would you mind adding that to the OP

Thanks 654321ROD, I have installed 148/5.0.0.93 and all looks good although I am not sure that I got the Swap Radio to work correctly. Is there a way that I can confirm that I have the 109 radio files installed?

Marke, under options>about, does your platform say 4.0.0.136? That is the platform from the .109 sfi file. Here is a link to all radio files including their platform number http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/b...m-numbers.html

Sure Marke, go to Options/About and your platform for the 109 sfi file should be 4.0.0.136

    Hey Stiefler07 and BBCrackman,
My challenge is a little more complex I think.... I have a hybrid version of 148 and 5.0.0.93(9000) Beta Java files. I have then used the Swap-Radio-Files utility to take the radio files back to version 109 as all the leaked versions since 109 have had very poor communication problems.... Or did I miss something in your responses?

You may have .109 installed, go to you options screen and hit about, you should see a line with 4.7.0.1xx(4.0.0.1xx) if the number between the () is 4.0.0.136 then you have .109 radio on your phone, if not you may have to try and swap again

Mmmm... Tried to do the radio swap and I still don't show the 4.0.0.136..... still shows 174, although my network seems to better... I have signal in a room where I normally was unable to get signal....
