Its been a month or so since I had the .103 CDMA loaded, so its kinda hard to remember. It was smooth running. As for memory, I never pay much attention, because of using mem hogs like weatherbug, its always bad for me.

on top of the previous question about the 5.0 is there anywere i can get just the .113 radio or do i have to download the whole thing?

lol ok i just wiped my phone so i now have a expensive brick here so i could use the help on the 5.0 stuff....i have the .113 radio code ready now do i just download the java files from the first page here and post them over the v3.5 java i have now and then apploader?

Edit- booting now hope i did it right just copied the .122 5.0 java over my 3.5 java.....can you guys check out my questions about cod files thread and see if you have some insight?

I think the 5.0 email is different. It's handling HTML documents...not certain that was able to do that in 4.7. I came across some menu choices to allow this.
Also able to change the email signature to something other than "Sent from my Verizon Wireless Blackberry". So, looks like this 5.0 segment is functioning and also the Safe Mode piece....I don't have enough apps on mine to determine if safe-mode (memory warnings) are working but one can certainly get it to boot up in safe mode...don't think that's possible on 4.7. Suspect I'll find more.

Just upgraded the the 4/13 update of the 5.0.0.90 hybrid and my browser is gone!! Help?

Ok. SO what I found was the my radio was off.... I turned it back on and my Browser REAPPEARED? What the.... anyone have an explanation for me?

The radio is the connection between your phone and your service. When its off your phone is not connected to your carrier or Blackberry. It turning off is normal when loading and os.

Makes sense. Done a ton of upgrades but first time I had this happen. Thanks again for the explanation.

yea, its hit and miss with it. I learned the hard way once. Did and upgrade before I went to bed and never noticed til about 1 pm the next day. When I turned it on, I missed like 10 calls and 50 texts. lol

Tried 5.0 on sunday wasn't really impressed. Especially since I could not get the today theme running. what's changed anything earth shattering?

Haven't seen anything really changed... although now you can run the STORM in SAFE MODE with the new 5.0 cods. My memory recovers great with the 5.0 cods mixed with .122. Never drop below 40mb in a 24 hour period from 54mb startup. (QuickPull scheduled everyday). Phone seem responsive and the browser is quick. Haven't seen any "major" improvements over say BBCrackmans v3.5. But just like everything else with the STORM no two phones act the same way with the same software!

I've had good luck with 5.0 hybrid so far so I'm gonna keep going with it til something else gets my attention I guess.

i have been running for a few hours i am running .113 radio and then the java files from lyri will post results in the morn of what i have picked up on

so basically the only difference is safe mode which i really dont see the point of really. why do i need safe mode on my cell phone? can all apps still run while in safe mode? if not whats the point? to prevent apps from leaking memory? delete the memory leaking apps then! maybe i just am slow tonight cause im tired and am miserable at work who knows haha.

I tried to run safe mode on v3.5 and it works, what exactly is the point of safe mode?

I won't allow background apps to run in the background, like BerryBuzz or or BuzzMe

I know he mentioned it in the original post but I didn't encounter any ringtone problems.
