As some of you know, we've been working on trying to get 5.0.0.90 files from the BOLD LEAK to work with the 9530 Storm. (Could work for the 9500 aswell, untested though)
V 0.5 Beta (.122/.109/5.0.0.90) [More revisions to come as it is tested]
(Boots with no errors, Browser works, calls work, apps work, seems fully functional)
DESPITE THAT, INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK
MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP ALL OF YOUR DATA
DM 5.0 IS NOT REQUIRED TO INSTALL
Last updated: April 13/2009 @ 11:30PM EST
Just the Java folder: http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/5.0.0.90+.122.rar
Installer (x86/32-bit): http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/5.0Hybrid.exe
Installer (x64/64-bit): http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/5.0Hybrid(x64).exe
Just the working 5.0 Files: http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/5.0Files.rar
Shrunken Files: http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/RemovedFiles.rar
Once installed, it should show platform .153 and OS version .122, but 5.0 is definitely there.
To check this: Go to options > advanced > applications > bb button > modules. You should see files with 5.0.0.90 beside them.
(If you get just the Java, it will show .122 with whatever platform you are installing it over. This is why some are getting .122 with a different platform than 153 on your phone)
Changes made (that I can recall)
(I have not noticed any graphical changes or new features yet, that I've been able to load)
- Browser
- Fonts
- Process Launcher
- App Console
- Call Control
- Language files
and I Shrunk it, as usual.
[
5.0 Files included and working with this install:
37)
"HEY... THERE'S MORE FILES NOW THAN WHEN I ORIGINALLY INSTALLED IT, WHAT GIVES!?"
Solution: Just re-download the installer/.rar and install again
Note: the .rar tends to be more updated as its smaller and easier to make (just copy and paste the files in your Java folder and run Loader, it should update some stuff)
It is stable as far as I've tested
I've been running it for a few hours this morning/afternoon
fresh bootup at 59.9mb (no themes or anything), haven't seen it move too much
I've also had to set my own ringtone, not sure what the issue is with that.
Everything
SEEMS functional as normal, but I have not tested every single thing
KEEP IN MIND THIS WAS MADE USING THE BOLD 9000 5.0.0.90 LEAK
All that being said, install instructions below

NOTE: IF IT SHOWS A DOWNGRADE IN DM OR LOADER, IT IS BECAUSE THERE ARE PARTS OF 109 IN THIS AS WELL.
COPY/PASTE HOW TO
http://theiexplorers.com/howto.html
Upgrading from .113/.122 is easiest. (Links below)
.113 Official (FileFront) or .113 Official (MEGAUPLOAD) or .113 Official (SendSpace)
if you're upgrading from .113/.122
- Make sure .113 is installed.
- Run the Installer.
- Update.
if you're upgrading from stock .75/.76
- Download .113 Official (FileFront) or .113 Official (MEGAUPLOAD) or .113 Official (SendSpace)
- Install that, then get either
x86:http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/9530...P4.0.0.153.exe
x64:http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/9530...0.153(x64).exe
- Install using the installer that corresponds to your Windows OS
- Update
(This is why: Only reason .113 is required to go from stock is so that you have a registered upgraded OS installed on your PC (mainly in your registry). You then upgrade that one to become .122)
if you're upgrading from .114/bbcrackman v3.5
- At Install screen, in the textbox beneath Destination Folder, change: 9530-v4.7.0.113_P4.0.0.144 to 9530-v4.7.0.114_P4.0.0.143 (or whatever OS you installed the hybrid over)
- Install using the installer that corresponds to your Windows OS
- Update
if you're upgrading from .109
- At Install screen, in the textbox beneath Destination Folder, change: 9530-v4.7.0.113_P4.0.0.144 to 9530-v4.7.0.109_P4.0.0.136
- Install using the installer that corresponds to your Windows OS
- Update
if you're upgrading from anything lower:
- At Install screen, in the textbox beneath Destination Folder, change: 9530-v4.7.0.113_P4.0.0.144 to 9530-v4.7.0.###_P4.0.0.###, where the #s are replaced by your version and platform
- Install using the installer that corresponds to your Windows OS
- Update
If the update doesn't show up:
- Delete the Vendor.xml file, as this is the cause of many people's updates not showing up
its in: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader"
- Make sure you have .113 installed or you changed the Browse folder to your latest OS folder (See above)
- Make sure you are using the right installer: x86 = 32-bit and x64 = 64-bit
FAQ:
After extracting the files I get a "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." error. What is wrong?
This cannot find the file error is just windows not being able to auto-load the Loader.exe file to update. If you open Loader.exe yourself or use Desktop Manager, you should be fine. It is located at: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Loader.exe" (Program Files (x86) for 64-bit users)

Credit to the leakers, those who have motivated me (and OneOfAKindDPC & newcomer bakeradiosk8er16) to research and try this build, and of course RIM who makes the .cod files we blend for you!
(Without RIM, we ain't going anywhere)
RESEARCH NOTES:
- parts of the 5.0 browser work with .122 (doesn't seem too changed)
- file exploring and media have been modified by RIM to the point where its incompatible with 4.7, it seems they've added a new media API
- bluetooth from 9000 5.0.0.90 doesn't work for the 9530, not sure if the 8900 bluetooth file does (havent tried)
^I included the 9530 bluetooth though and it works 100%, no worries
- media becomes crippled after swapping many of the .cods (due to the new API)
- have got it to boot (and have media working) with about 10 files total
- minimal leak with the portions of 5.0 included (but I havent been able to run for more than 24hrs to see)
