toytooii, I understand your desire to get information first hand, but our Help Team is constantly communicating via IM and keeping each other up to date with there findings. If they are unsure of an answer, they will either find it, or not respond. I'm sure if lyricidal has new findings, he will surely post for all to enjoy. He constantly is updating his OP to his findings. jlevy73 is one of the most knowledgeable members of this forum. His responses are always spot-on. He knows that if he is wrong, we will beat him senseless . lol

jlevy73 is (as he always is, which Shanepark2 re-iterated) spot on with my general procedure. Don't have to worry about anything he answers I do go with 1-2 files at a time then update. Each boot (if it does boot) I run some minor tests: apps, browsing, calls, media, etc. to ensure nothing is broken (like when people were having issues with weatherbug and poynt on a previous release)
as for files that are totally incompatible, I've come across quite a few that either cause the phone not to boot or the apps not to function. I've attempted to add features from 5.0 by adding files related to some of the additions that I've read, but they seem to generally break the phone (apps wont load/phone wont boot/e-mails rendered incorrectly or not being received/landscape and portait no longer working, etc.)
Hope this answers the unanswered part(s?) of your question.

Thank you very much for replying. It is most appreciated. I've been working on unscrambling some of these 5.0 files as well and was wondering if you have, by chance, found any differences in incompatibility depending on what ver/platform you attempted to load them over? I am trying to see where the backward compatibility may have been incorporated (if at all). Thank you again for all of your work. Also wondering if you have compared your 5.0 hybrid (content) with those being offered up by others and if there are any apparent differences (aside from language removals and similar).

I just replied in the other thread as well, but strangely I seem to have an intermittent typing lag in BBIM and texting and emails. Just when i think I'm going to go back to V4, it will go away and I'll be sucked back in again.

And oh btw...the Peak-A-Who Application from Smart Guard is now optimized and running VERY WELL on the Storm. It even has White List and Black List features for emails you don't want a preview on. And now the contact picture is also bigger.
Just a great application and finally doing what it was intended on the Storm. And No, I don't work for them.
