Thread: 5.0.0.238 SMS Issue

I installed .238 and its working great except for my SMS. For some reason I can only send SMS from the messages folder, I can no longer send an SMS from my contacts....any ideas?

What happens when you try to send an SMS from your contacts?

It goes to a screen with the contact info on top but no "bubble/box" to type a message.

I never really send an sms from my contacts, but i just checked to see if i can do it and mine is working ok.

Just out of curiosity have you tried separating your SMS and Message folder?

i have this issue too.

Make sure you have your sms and mailbox separated with the theme you are using. If you have this it shouldn't be a problem. It works fine for me. Have sent several texts from my address book with no problem.

Tried combined, separate, and theme controlled...same issue.

and when i send texts the recipient sees "@@@@@@"

Don't have the above issue, but do have an issue where new SMS messages are not triggering the notification. Only work around I have found is to make sure after sending an SMS you leave the SMS thread and go back to the main mailbox and then go to the home screen before you lock the device. Seems to work half of the time that way.

do you mean you arent getting an audible alert? are you running a theme?

Both audible and visual alerts...I tend to shut off my audio here and there so it could be that I am missing that, but the red light should always blink according to my settings and it only sometimes does, so not sure what is happening there.

sounds funny but have you check the smart dialing and use your country code. coz it working perfecly on my device

Same issue here but only if I do this..

A> find contact name> select contact name> select mobile number of contact> send sms

But if I do this
A> find contact name> press menu button> send sms. - then the box will appear

I use qsms so I didn't notice this as well.. Somehow this would be very disturbing since we want all to work perfectly but then again, this is a beta so yeah let's just hope to have no more bugs on future releases. Let's hope for the best.
