New AT&T Offical OS Update! 4.6.0.297 (PLATFORM 4.6.0.247)
AT&T just released an update to their most recent 4.6.0.297, I believe this comes as a fix as many people know they pulled or tried/wanted to pull the 4.6.0.297 update when it first dropped. I believe this was due to bugs with bluetooth and the media player among others. But there is a new release posted with PLATFORM 4.6.0.247 rather than platform 4.6.0.243 that originally was packaged with the . 297 release.

Thanks for the update

Nice find.....thank you for the update once again!!

I dont know why the would change the platform number and not the package number that is very unusual isnt it? Is it possible it got loaded wrong and they had to pull it to get it right?
-
Funny you say this because as hilarious as it might sound, I think its actually possible that they compiled the initial 4.6.0.297 installer package release with the wrong platform included (4.6.0.243) which if I recall when I ran this same leaked full OS VERSION 4.6.0.243 I had the same jacked up bluetooth syncing interfacing with media player glitches along with losing 3G service and going into SOS radio mode all the time which I never had a problem with all the way from 4.6.0.247 through 4.6.0.282 full OS versions.... HA.

It just seems odd. would love to hear some smarter fellas chime in on this

I am equally confused. If they changed the OS in any way it would have been issued a different version number. Another weird part is that RIM builds the OS and sends it to the carriers to test, not to change. If it tests poorly they give the feedback to RIM and so on and so on. I have no idea who screwed up but obviously somebody did. The original .297 was a big flop.

My guess is that AT&T was pushing hard on RIM to give them a release with great battery life, which they did but I would say that AT&T's testing was less than sub-par in a overall performance/reliability scope of the OS. The original .297 is great on battery life but had all the aforementioned glitches which are a pain in the a$$ especially when your working out at the gym and you have to reboot your phone TWICE (A good 10-12 min) in the middle of a workout because the OS crashed from bluetooth/media player bugs and took 5-10 more minutes to rescan the memory card media because of crappy memory card interfacing code.
Installing the new update now from the old .297, will post feedback as I notice things.

BTW the package/release version for this update changed from 4.6.0.513 to 4.6.0.517 as well.

Lost visual voice mail
After i upgraded, my visual voice mail says that the provision was unsuccessfull. Any idea on how to fix that? Ask the AT&T rep?
Thanks,

Findings Thus Far
Ok, so I've been running this update since the end of last week and so far i've noticed the following as compared to the orignal .297 release:
- Bluetooth issues seem to be gone
- Boot time seems to be noticeably faster
- Seems to be slightly smoother OS operation all around
- VVM still works fine for me as it did before I updated to .297 (rel #2)
- BBM5 works great, it seems to mesh better with this release, at least to me
-Still getting SOS radio mode in low service area's...never got this with OS .247 or .282...I think its annoying
-Waiting on the new v4 Hybrid!!! Sounds promising
-Waiting on a new 5.0.0.2xx leak so I can use BBM5 and have more app compatibility!!! Can't wait to be running OS 5.0

Is this OS supposed to have .301 files in the modules? Any one else notice this. I did have a .301 based hybrid before, but I did a wipe before I instaled this.
