hello guys, i recently got my bold back form assistance, it wasn't connecting to any network or wifi, now i have with the original OS (very old). i upgraded it to .247 but i noticed it drains my battery, i barely make ity to the end of the day.
what software would you advise me to install? keeping in mind im on VODAFONE IT

The latest leaked for Bold is 5.0.0.191. I have heard many good feedback on it. You can try that one. Also, let's see what our Bold users can advice. :)

I've never used 4.6 on my bold, I'm with olta, battery life and stability are present only problem if you care about is incompatibility with most of the IM apps, since I don't use them I don't really care.
i am very concerned about installing a 5.0 as all my problems in the past that it wouldnt connect where since i installoed the 5.0 so i think ill wait untill an official 5.0 will come out. is the .292 a good stable one?
will a 5.0 ever come out? i think i read somewhere that it was due on the 10th of sept??

I would take dates with grain of salt. Official releases are dependent on carrier approving them and certifying as qualified for official. Check out our Bold OS subforum for choices and feedback of available OS. It all depends on what suits you and how well your Bold tolerates the OS. :)Quote:

If you want stability and app compatibility I recommend 4.6.0.266. It is the best 4.6 build to date overall.
If you want stability and app compatibility but with some 5.0 flavor, go with Xonz Hybrid v2.1. It features 5.0 browser, fonts, and bbm. Optimized for excellent battery life, app memory, etc.
If you can live without a few apps (mainly RIM apps) then I strongly recommend 5.0.0.190 (not .191 - that is for the Storm/Tour). It is the best performing 5.0 to date and is very stable. Super fast browser, etc. I never had 1 reboot on this OS. The Bold and 8900 (I use both) have a higher platform version than .191 on the Storm/Tour and for whatever reason it is way more stable and everything works better. Platform 5.2.x.xxx is however not compatible with the current leaked BBM 5.0.8 so you have to stick with BBM 4.7 which is packaged with the OS.
All 3 of these firmware versions are winners it just depends on your app needs and also your comfort level using leaked BETA's vs. official releases ;)
