From what I heard this build includes threaded SMS

can u take the sms/messaging .cod out n use it in another os? i wish right? lol

ive been using this for less than an hour and im gonna go back to .297. the title bars are all messed up on my phone and not having BBM is a major downside. i did get an older version of BBM 5 to work but it didnt have message history or automatic contact restoring.

this is what my title bars all look like. its like that for sms messages too.

I'm scared to even try it. The last 5.0 OS I tried wasn't that good at all, nothing worked on it.

Browser tabs are not in the new build so far.

that is because most software has not been updated to work on 5.0 . the new platform on this version is 5.2. Software will be updated soon to be compatible with 5.0 OS. but most does not support it yet still

Downloading the OS as we speak so I will report back when its installed with my findings...

why doesnt someone make a hybrid off of this?

Is the BB browser active with this version for AT&T customers. On the prior builds you only had Media Net & Hotspot browsers with no real permanent fix.

^you have to do the browser fix to get it to work

Best 5.0 build to date by far (although not still perfect!). Here are some quick bullet point, more to follow:

* Option now to auto-update time zone (FTW!!!) never had this on BB


* 2G/3G selection even on AT&T


* The WiFi symbol is now black & white - looks sweet


* AT&T browser fix from .100 is still required but I did it in approximately 5 minutes and my browser has worked since

* Media fix from .130 is no longer needed... yay! (this was the main reason I downgraded from .130 the first time)

* SocialScope works (didn't work on .143)

* RIM apps still don't work but with SocialScope I don't care about no Facebooke (also learned how to text pics into FB!)

* No BBM5 with this build (DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOAD BBM5 VIA OTA OR YOU WILL HAVE TO REINSTALL BBM & WILL LOSE YOUR CONTACTS)

* Comes with BBM 4.7 which is the Storm version and is better than the std Bold 4.6. Still not as good, but very fast!

* When you install a theme now, an awesome new menu pops up prompting you to run.


* Threaded SMS is totally FTW... iPhone fanbois can hush now we have it! We also have smilies with this


* Additional options in the WiFi setup menu


* Vibe and ring option - I haven't tested this myself yet


* Upgrades with clock and alarm


* 5.2 platform menu upgrades totally tweaked the menus and layout similar to .130 & .143


* Application list is now sorted into core, 3rd party, and add-ons


Don't panic... I know the browser fix and also the BBM fix if you messed up and tried to load BBM5. Will try to get tutorials up. Bear with me everything's hectic at the moment

You still have to do the fix from .100 but the media fix is no longer needed

Quick review:

1. remove browser daemon module via crackutil
2. install AT&T service books via .ipd file
3. reinstall browser daemon module via crackutil
4. battery pull
5. resend service books via bis or email setup app

If you need .ipd file or anything post up and I have all the tools available. I've done this browser fix so many times I have it down to about 10 minutes. The good news with this build is once you fix it you're done. Only has to be done once and does not mess up media.
