4.6.0.508 for the Blackberry 9000
So many of us saw yesterday that it appears the Tour will be getting some love with an OS upgrade soon, and then today we find out that the Bold will be getting some love as well! 4.6.0.508 will be the next official OS for the Blackberry Bold, and it appears to offer some pretty great features for those Bold owners.
Over at CIO they were lucky enough to get an excerpt from a corporate customer who was notified of the update.
"AT&T has approved the BlackBerry Bold Maintenance Release (v4.6.0.508). This release, which provides several enhancements, will become publically available on August 25, 2009 including via OTA.
What's New / What's Changed / What's Launched
A number of enhancements are contained in the Maintenance Release including:
AT&T Visual Voicemail (optional feature)
General handset software optimization and improvements
Capability to set the device to "2G only" for better battery life and coverage in some international roaming situations
Additional VPLs including My-Cast Weather, Wiki Mobile, Mobile Banking, a few games and more.
The Maintenance Release will be available to customers to download from August 25, 2009 and will be available from www.att.com/bbdownloads."
While the email received is showing a release date of the 25th, this could be for the corporate users, and it may take a bit longer before the average Blackberry user gets the update, but it is on the way!
