Problem is you lose cell service either way when loader shuts off your radio

I tried to update my OS from .292 to .297 but my computer doesn't recognized the new OS that I installed. Tried to wipe out my DM5 and the apploader from C:/directory and installed it again but this didn't help. does anyone here that can help me to solve this problem?

Did you try removing the vendor.xml file?

Yes, I tried to wipe out the C:/program/reseach in motion/apploader and the DM5 and installed the new OS but when i check the apploader it remains the same old version.

Can anyone tell me that if i upgrade to the Bold OS 4.6.0.297, do i need to downgrade from the 4.6.0.282 hybrid i have now? Is it worth it? I mean i heard it has visual voicemail..hmmm

Best thing to do would be to wipe your device clean of the hybrid, then load .297.

Tried it but its still the same. I will stay to .292 till i found the solution or someone can help he to solve this problem. Thanks Morgan to your suggestion I appreciate it.

had .292 then wiped and loaded .167 so I could get a feel for the OTA experience..... there is no WIRELESS UPGRADE option in my advanced options menu...

Alright, .297 installed, 3 battery pulls, running no apps yet besides what came with OS. Here are the stats:

Load up, timing the white screen: New record of 42 seconds (way faster than .167, and just barely beat Xonz's 1.0 hybrid)

Memory after startup: Sitting at 63.2 (once again way better than .167, and just barely ahead of Xonz's hybrid)

I will update what my memory drops to after it drops. And for the record Xonz's hybrid is amazing, blazing fast browser, he does great work, I simply used him as an example to compare this new OS. I am sure he will build a hybrid off this base OS which will include 5.0 browser, BBM, and fonts that will be the hybrid to beat all hybrids.

Thanks for the update. looks good. Any apps don't work with this install?
