Seems like that is an issue with the radio, what carrier are you on, and its supports 3g or 2g?
Go to manage connections and under mobile network options what it says 2G & 3G or just 2G?

If you pull the battery you might want to remove the Sim card for 30 seconds and then place it back also try to resend the services books.

im on vodafone IT (italy) i keep the network on 2G, right now its in GPRS but for wxample BBM either doesnt work or its extremely slow, same with email.
but does it make sense that all of a sudden it stops?
in other words, i can reload the service book, but it doesnt make sense cuz i never touched it,
im just asking cuz i wanna understand
ah and i thought im alone facing this issue. Its happening for me for all 5.0 os including hybrid.
most of the time im able to get a network (ps my operator supports both 2g n 3g)
occasionally i get stuck in sos mode. have to manage connection > turn off radio n on again for it to get network.
but by me even that doesnt work, right now im on GPRS, i get BBM but cant send. if i run a giagnostic test, it says, connected to the network, but not to BIS, and all this in gprs :-(
SOS usually means the SIM card number in the card is invalid... just a thought???
i checked it, it's ok. now the problem is even bigger. i downgraded back to .216 and I STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE :-(
IM REALLY IN TEARS, CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?
PS. browser is just hotspot or vodafone live, where is regular browser??

Do you have any other friends you could try swapping SIM cards with? Or you could go to a store and see if they have s SIM card they could swap in to test with. That would rule out whether or not the issue is related to the SIM. If it isn't, the best thing may be just to ask for a replacement.
i went to a store before, they told me they can reset it and install the last official version (something i have done but didnt solve the problem) but they also told me that if the repair discovers i installed a leaked version the warranty is automatically void, and ill have to pay the repari whch could cost as much as a new bb.
now i am on 5.0.0.130 it shows 3G and logo, but cant surf nor chat on BBM, i get the little clock and doeant send data.

Go to options, advanced options, host routing tables, menu key, and select register then resend the services books, that can help and also just for helping purposes we can be sure that you have a data plan?
