Nice good idea![]()
Facebook doesn't work for all your Facebook lovers.![]()
don't bother upgrading if you plan on adding 3rd party apps...most won't recognize 5.0.
plus, the 5.0 builds are not stable yet...more headaches then anything
Anyone try Bluetooth pairing yet? Curious to know if it's still causing reboots. Having the browser fixed without the service book and crackutil workaround would be nice. I'd love to hear about memory usage and battery life. Memory went from 30mb to less than 4mb after listening to Slacker for four hours. Will upgrade regardless, just curious.

well i guess I can't speak for every single app out there, but the majority i have tried don't...
what does though: UberTwitter, WeatherEye, Viigo, Facebook for me
what doesn't: MSN, Facebook for everyone else, myspace, bloomberg, worldmate, trapster, Slacker, Nobex apps, etc. etc.

Browser issue still exists. Crackutil work around required. BBM could not transfer my database so I did it manually. Upon opening the app, there is a EULA you must agree to before using it. This is new to me. Haven't really looked around for other items at this point.
I cannot use yahoo messenger. when trying to connect, i got popup service is not enabled for this handheld. I got no problem to sign in Windows Live Messenger
New findings...
Bluetooth appears to pair without rebooting.
After the browser work around is applied the startup lag is gone. Press the BB button and menu appears right away.
You'll need to input your APN info under Options > Advanced Options > TCP/IP
WiFi with WPA works perfectly. Haven't tried WPA2 since I got the phone.
Visual Voicemail still sits at "Please wait while we configure Visual Voice Mail..." screen but the odd SMS is received when phone boots for the first time with cod's installed. Might be due to unlocked and debranded Bold or just no service book from AT&T.
Media Player - Time elapsed/remaining display fixed while listening to music. It was distored on my .90 and .93 install.
Can't report on battery usage or memory until later tomorrow.
Working software:
Slacker
Pandora
Mobihand App Store
Blackberry App World
Gmail
Google Maps
Quicklaunch
BerryPopup
TweetGenius
Bank of America Mobile App
AT&T Navigator
Bold Browser
BerryWeather
Poynt
Update 6/11/09:
Battery life appears to be A LOT better and memory management has improved greatly! I'm not dropping down to 4.xx megs while listening to Slacker. Lowest I've hit is 28.3 megs free.

I am on AT&T and I tried the work around from another site and it worked but my browser still would not function properly. When I was set to 'browser' the browser ID 'blackberry' was greyed out and had a little lock symbol on it. Only the wap browser would work. I would love to hear from someone who got the 5.0 browser working on AT&T 9000.

I found a different method this morning of getting the browser back without using crackutil. I'll post the url when I get home. My phone is an AT&T 9000.

Browser Fix
The instructions worked for me and I didn't have a problem. Much easier than removing the net_rim_browser_daemon file, reboot phone, service book reload, etc....
You will have to use the DM to remove the provisioning service book.
You will even see Blackberry Maps until you turn the radio back on.![]()
