Hello. downloaded and installed the new software - works great so far.
How do I go about setting a password for the phone? Under Options --> Security Options, I dno't see a "General Settings" where it seems like most internet forums say I need to set a password here.
Please help.
Try this go to options>security options>advanced security options> keystores
Sorry for my double post earlier - computer problems.
and thanks for your previous answer. however, what I really want a password for you to unlock the phone. I can't find where to do that in the new 5.0 OS. instead of the * (and) green-send key to unlock, I wanted it to require a password.
any ideas?
The info up above, after I enabled it, doesn't see to make this happen.
Have you tried looking here...?
Options>Password...
No need to feel that way at all.
I myself get used to working problems from a certain angle for so long that I forget that there may be another angle to look at. :D
I do, but apart from that build OS is awesome, I love it! So many new features, its like a brand new phone, Superb.
I dont agree with this chap BlackBerrySites Official BlackBerry 5.0 OS Walkthrough Video! - Official BlackBerry 5.0 OS Walkthrough Video! | BlackBerrySites.com at all, I think its way and above how he describes it.
On Bootup, you get a progress bar.
And is usable within seconds.
Bootup now (For Me) takes 8 mins, my last version .303 took 45mins, it had a lot of trouble reading the memory card.

Its the multilanguage 9000M_PBr5[1].0.0_rel661_PL5.2.0.33_A5.0.0.411.exe
the double click thing with the trackball is getting way outta hand for me.
other then that i love this os.
the double click with just pushing the track ball once just seems to be getting worse.
let me know how it goes, i love this os.
but the double click thing is like this.
lets say your on a message and want to open it, you push the track ball once but it takes it as a double click so it will go to a whole other option or whatever menu is after.
i often find myself resending pictures to people because when i click on the picture i sent, it takes me 1 click as 2 and clicks it to open it, then hits the resend button on the extra click i didnt do.
if this isnt a problem with yours let me know.
i seen someone else post this issue but havent heard much else on it, perhaps i need to wipe and do a reinstall if it doesnt happen to u.
please keep me posted.
anyone else have this prob?
my co-worker has been running the vodafone on his ATT 9000 for a day now and loves it, he reports no issues
great :)
