Title renamed so we can all keep the excitement in one thread ;)
Any findings? I'm wondering if there's enough reason to upgrade from .348
Downloading Now Hopefully they fixed the D icon for delivery reports and the Having a SIM lock password and be able to send SMS and not have it lock up.
Will test and get back to you guys.
Also will check if the rim_tmobile_enabler stay running even after its enabled and no longer needed
myfaves don't work but i bet you because tmobile doesn't have myfaves anymore but only for current users like me so when and if they release os 5.0 they will not fix myfaves for the new OS. on side not you do see myfaves briefly but it disapears.
tmobile doesnt have my faves anymore.... :)
It does for current users
this is my first time trying OS 5.0 and its so cool. i love the new icons and threaded sms wow! I noticed the browser speed wow! even GPS is faster and enabling wifi is faster to so much stuff to talk about.
Quick question... I've got .348 on my phone right now. Do I have to do a clean wipe install or will just running apploader on the currently installed .348 be ok?
On 4.6 I'd always let apploader uninstall the OS and load the new one. I'd prefer not to wipe the device cause I never know what applications or contacts I may lose in the process.
You don't have to but if you end up having issues, you may want to wipe/reinstall. To be honest, you should ALWAYS do a complete back up before loading a new OS. Then you don't have to worry about losing contacts/data. Then do an app back up.

just upgraded... the phone keeps bringing itself out of standby every few mins :/
Found a bug when swapping from wireless to Normal network.
When sending SMS it causes a protocol network error multiple times until the wireless network it fully disabled if not in a full EDGE network and only on edge when sending an SMS with wireless on
I also see that EDGE takes a bit longer to load so im stuck on 2G edge netowrk until it loads 2.5G EDGE network.
This one seems to be MUCH better than the previous version:
- visual voice mail is again integrated
- BBM 5.0
- A2DP is working MUCH better now - nearly no dropouts during playback
- minor changes in menus (at least in German language)
- I found no problems so far
Ok folks so I have been lurking and reading up for a while now and finally decided to post my findings. I have been using a Curve 8900 with the latest Tmo 4.7 OS until yesterday I decided to give this leak a try.
Try and try as I may my first attempt at getting it installed failed. I was using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and DM 5.01 and it just refused to let me upgrade the os at all. I deleted the vendor.xml and ran loader.exe all by itself but it just would not let me.
Gave up and went home to my XP machine with DM 4.7 and lickity split it upgraded my BBOS to 5.0.0.411.
My finding for this OS so far have generally been positive. All my application are working well:
- Gmail Blackberry App
- BBM 5.0 (comes stock with the OS)
- Myspace
- Dictionary App
- Google Maps
- Yahoo Messenger
- Google Voice app
- Threaded SMS
They all seem to work well. So far only problem was with Windows 7.
Plan on installing Bolt, Opera, File Scout and few others but haven't had an oppurtunity yet. Report back when I find out more.
