Yes. I shrunk it before installing. Did you?

No ever since 5.0 I quit shrinking because the difference was about 1.5MB.. I found I just dont install it from the OS packet and it leaves it off just the same.. hers boots with all her apps at about 30.8MB which is damn good for a curve.. I would try a full install clean.. Wipe with BBSAK... also you are 100% the gps is on not in 911 mode? mine would some time default to that

I will wipe with BBSAK and install without shrinking. I will test it before I load back my 3rd party apps and restore my data.

has anyone had any difficulties with the alarm? i cant seem to change the time it goes off. also i dont seem to have a media player anymore?

alarm has to be changed from the calendar menu now.. and the media player is there its just not an icon anymore.. everything is its own icon... pics, vids, music, etc

I installed the 230 without shrinking and the BB Maps still would not work. I went back to 4.5 and did an install and it worked perfect. That proves there is not a hardware issue. I am not sure what to do next!

Hmm I am at a loss.. I am sure when you were on .230 you hit the update position or sats what ever it says? and did you try any third party gps apps?

as far as the media player, i have the camera, i have a video, but i dont have the music player, where is that?

Yes. BB Maps is the only GPS software supported by Verizon other than VZ Navigator on the 8330.

third party, the 8900 look alike, i have the music player when i was on os 4.5, but not now.

Yea its because its not an icon anymore.. check your folders like applications.. they should all be in there or one of the other folders for the theme.. if you switch back to the stock theme you will see how it is now
