Thread: Any OS updates for Curve 8330 coming?

Does anybody know if the Curve 8330 is going to get any love with an OS update?

You mean like OS 5.0?

I wouldnt expect it. Atleast not from VZW. They will be releasing the Curve 2 for the holiday season and will more or less forget about the 8330.

The most recent provider OS release was a small fix, and not even a broadcasted update. Don't expect anything new for the 8130, 8330, or 8830 as they have, or will be, replaced with the Pearl flip, Curve2 and Tour respectively.

Just hope you can upgrade to the Curve2 in the next couple months. I would say we can expect the 5.0 OS on it. But don't quote me on that.

Ya, I have to agree. The 8330 is now like the 8700..You don't see much love for them any more. If any.

Figures, I have a 8330 with sprint. Got it about 6 months ago before the rumors came out for the tour. Now I won't get any love for my phone with an OS upgrade...just my luck. Thanks!!

It's not a hybrid, nor has it been leaked or released.

As Sunkast said, this is the latest internal build for RIM. Just showing that the firmware development is still way ahead of what has been released for the 83XX series.

Is the 8330 series hsdpa ready? I don't think you'll see a 5.0 release but my understanding is they will support that device until the last "contract" has expired for that device. I guess that would be 3 yrs from the last sold device.

Rim has always been good at supporting all of their devices.

I know on Berryreview they have an 4.5.0.169 update for the 8330

I'm ready to move to at least 4.6 with the curve 83xx's that is not a HUGE step.

Tell me about it. I'm on 4.5.0.163 and i want something different. Because i dont plan on upgrading til they release something new or the tour goes down. I'm afraid i'll get the tour (my wife has one, i love it) and then they'll simply release something better, heh

I agree, I am ready for atleast 4.6!!
