Thread: 4.5.0.169 released for 8330

Looks like once again there is an OS for the 8330 users. This time the version being 4.50.169 from Cellular South. You can get the download right from their website by clicking here

I get screamed at cause I'm sticking with the .77 VZW OS, why cause I've had no serious issues with it.

I'm loading this on my wife's curve. I also shrank it, so I will post my findings shortly.

nice I am in the same boat she just got hers last week and this is the second update. Just to be sure this is for VZW too yes????

I downlaoded this to my wife's phone and it works great. Reloaded all of her app witht the download. Also shrank to OS. I just had to reload BBM 5.0 and BB Weather. Other than that the phone is very good and we both have Verizon.

Good to hear, would you suggest this for me? I have VZW and still using .77, just I haven't experienced any serious issues so that's why I haven't upgraded.

My wife did not experience and issues with her phone as well. however, I think she would say that her phone responds faster and there are less hour glasses.

I think you would be happy with the OS upgrade.

i am using .160 and i keep having this weird beep and fax machin thing come in when i go to make a call so i am gionna try this new one

Likely a retarded question, but a question none the less. I updated from 4.5.0.77 to 4.5.0.169 and was expecting the layout of the screen to look similar to the picture above at the top of the thread. In reality, it looks basically the exact same as it did before. I have confirmed that 4.5.0.169 was updated when I check, "About". Should it look similar to the original layout or am I way off? I have seen some people at my office with Curve's that have more of a "Bold" layout and that's what I was expecting. Thanks guys/girls.

I think that's just a generic screen shot we use for our phone images.

just an fyi tripster, my wife has a curve and i upgraded her to .138 a while back... holy hell do it and you will see diff

hell yeah....even from .160 to .169 i can see the diff

when i tried to download, it told me that this was not compatible with my device..any thoughts?

i saved the file then tried loading it from the desktop manager and got that message
