Thread: Help loading 4.5.0.160 on 8330

hey im knew to this forum, but that problem happened to many times, but it happened when i downloaded themes to the phone. what you need to do is on one of your pc delete the os 160. after doing that you need to redownload the old verison of the os. by the way before doing that what carrier is your 8330?

vader have you tried completely removing dm and any os's rebooting, redownloading and rebooting?

Virtual High Five to EVERYONE! The OS loaded, phone is rebooting now, and I will go and re-install all the 3rd party apps and backups and be on da road!

welcome, but just a heads up on the new bbm there are still some problems with it, some messages dont get sent or if it does it never shows a delivered. also make sure that the bbm stays on the phone meaning do a backup and see if it stay on the phone i installed it for my 8330 for sprint and that night i connected it back to the pc when it did all it had to do it uninstalled it and replaced it with the old verison that was there. but its happening to only a few phones.

Thanks for the heads up. So far all is cool with the 1st one I did. We will see how this one goes. I have about 6 or 7 ppl that want me to do this to their phone.

I can now OFFICIALLY post 100% complete! OS install complete, App reinstall complete, and restore complete!

Maybe someone can help me out, I'm pretty new to the blackberry scene, I currently have v4.5.0.131 on my SPRINT 8330 curve. I downloaded .160 to try to install the new BBM it shows up on my DM to update, but when i select the .160 and clicks next it does it tasks and then states there is no updates available. i deleted the vendor.xml am i missing anything else?

Welcome to BlackberryOS Danny. Can you verify the current version on the phone for me by going to Options > About? Also you installed .160 on your computer correct? Do you have any other OS versions installed on your computer? What operating system are you using on your computer? What version of Desktop Manager are you using?

i have version 4.5.0.131. i installed os .160 and no other OS, the DM is also update (updated last night actually) i am using windows vista 32 bit. When i try to update, it shows the current OS on my phone and OS .160 i uncheck my current os and check .160 and it performs a task and just goes to a screen where it states there are no availible updates for my device.

Danny welcome to BBOS, before you use .160 do you have a 8330 or 8330m?

Also when installing a leaked os it is best to go... My computer>C Program files> common files> research in motion> loader> make sure you delete vendor.xml> then apploader in that same folder

If you have a 8330 click on options...then i think you will see what you are looking for, but the prefered way is what I said before using apploader instead of DM

to my knowledge I dont think its a 8330m also i deleted the vendor.xml already that was in program files/rim/apploader, are you saying there is another file i must delete?

no thats it, but in that same folder use the apploader.exe instead of opening DM that make sense
