Thread: Greek Language possible??

Hey OS,
i think i asked this in another thread or site cant remember but is there any possibility for the 8330 Sprint to get greek input language on it?? i would be the happiest person in the world if it can be ?? thx in advance

im currently runnin .160 on my 8330....

Sorry J I have looked and looked (forgot to post back a couple of days ago) and I have not found anything that can help.

lol its ok.. i been looking tand the only way it can be done is from like a hybrid like they made on the .160 the file needs to be added to the heirarchy in order for it to process on the bb... what a bunch of turd... i dunno who the os hybrid makers are but if any 1 can reach out for me and ask them this would be phenominal i would be totally endebted.. like seriously

Here is what someone posted to add arabic...I am sure you can do this to add greek from any multilanguage OS package.... (this was a while ago ) Hope it helps.

Here's the steps on Vista:

1. Go to Start/Computer/C Drive/Program Files (x86)

4. You should then see all the OS's that you've loaded in the past for your Blackberry. Go to the file 4.7.0.90 or 4.7.0.99 they both contain Arabic. When you decide which OS your going to pull from then enter the folder. For an example if you chose 4.7.0.99 then go into the folder and find the BlackBerry.alx, copy it to your desktop because you need to pull two more files. Then in that same folder on the top right in the search area, type in the world Arabic and it will automaticly take you to the two .cod arabic files that are located in the Java folder that you also need which are net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_45k_2.cod
and
net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_ltr.cod

Copy both of these files also to your desktop next to the blackberry.alx file

5. Now high light and copy all three files but do it in two sets because they go into different folders:
BlackBerry.alx
net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_45k_2.cod
net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_ltr.cod

Copy BlackBerry.alx and paste it into the folder named 9530-v4.7.0.103_P4.0.0.131 - a message will come up saying that it already exists, just click replace existing.

Then copy the other two files on your desktop:
net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_45k_2.cod
net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_arabic_eg_ltr.cod
and past them into 9530-v4.7.0.103_P4.0.0.131/Java
make sure you put them in the Java folder and NOT the main folder by BlackBerry.alx

Open Desktop Manager and connect your blackberry. You will be prompted to update and just click update button and follow the prompts.

That should do it, good luck.

actually working on this right now for the storm. Here's what I 've found so far. Greek itself is part of a language package. What you need is the last known os with your multi language support. copy/paste ALL language related .cod files. It's quite a large file but you dont need to run all languages on your device.

As of right now I was able to get greek, italian, portuguese, dutch and a host of others working on the latest release from VZW which doesn't support these languages. The key is to find the one that supports text input and understanding the language will save you alot of headaches.

It's a trial and error thing though lol If you attempt it make sure you know how to recover a bricked device...

its more like error and error.. i have downloaded an os from europe and i lost my sprint tv.. i forgot all i was looking for was the greek and the only lang that wasnt in there was greek.. lol ill get this eventually i hope.. this is killing me i would really luv to have greek input on my fricken device.. lol

It's just a matter of grabbing a few files from a different os and adding the files to which ever os you like best.

Once you find the os that supports greek run in through apploader- click on the "greek input support" so it's highlighted and the click details> modules - it will tell you the files needed to support greek.

open the java folder and pull out those selected files and add them to your favorite os's java folder.

Run apploader and make sure greek is now in the list of input support and it should load right up for you

one of our members has a mini java folder with his "greek" files for the storm. He can now add these files to any of the many hybrids and leaked os's out there.

just tried 4 diff files and none seamed to prompt me for greek to be installed on my phone.. i have nearly lost my mind,, i havet given up on this one bit.. HELPPPPPPPPP hehehehe im so irate its sad.

Cool discussion. I have been listening to russian and arabic on mp3 courses. By no means can I read it though. I like to fool around and send my wife text messages in diff languages. Can i grab these .cod's of the diff lang's and put them on my 8330m??? What i'd do is wipe/reload .169/put back lyricidal's java files/and be sure to add the .cods of the diff lang's too. I just use a translating prog from app world and sent them as email or text but if its not abc,123 characters it just shows up as boxes....
