it doesnt matter which one you use, as long as its for the 8330, just delete the vendor.xml file and it will work just fine

C:/ program files/ common files/ research in motion/ apploader and delete the vendor.xml. I would also from the same folder use the loader.exe program to load the OS

Hey new to the Forum but i have a question. If anyone can set me straight that would be great.

This is from the BB web site linked to the "download" button here.

Which OS is the latest and greatest?

Package Version: 4.5.0.90
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.66
* Software Platform: 3.2.0.48
or...

Package Version: 4.3.0.199
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.3.0.124
* Software Platform: 3.1.0.71

And my new Curve 8330 is this?
Version: 4.5.0.77
Platform: 3.2.0.51

Looking at the differences... i would say that my platform is beter that the others. If i do up/downgrade the os will my platform change as well to the listed??

Package Version: 4.5.0.205
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.5.0.138
Software Platform: 3.4.0.30
File name: 8330mAMEA_PBr4.5.0_rel205_PL3.4.0.30_A4.5.0.138.ex e

this is the newest software release for you 8330. Once you download and install you will have to go to C:/program files/ common files/ research in motion/ apploader/ find and delete the vendor.xml file, then in the same folder you will double click the Loader.exe (looks like a phone). This is the program you will use to load the OS to your device.

Thanks but the site states that the download is for the 8330M ONLY... I have the 8330...
Is there another????

Also what is the difference between the 8330 and the 8330M versions??

Then it will not work. 8330M and 8330 are different and the OS is specific to the M version only.

ESNs are being exhausted so RIM switched to MEID. Think of it as an 18 digit ESN.

The link is for this is not available also it is for the Sprint Network.
Question: Can i delete the Vendor.xml to get this to work? I have a Verizon Phone.

Yes, if you delete the vendor.xml you can download and install on your verizon device .131 here

Doing the Telus Mobility .138 OS download for my wife's 8330 Verizon Curve. This software will work right? Is the radio the same?

Well did the update and it seems to be working well. However, I tried to check the build and platform # and when I go into Options, About nothing happens. Is there any other way to check the version on a Curve 8330?
