8230 5.0.0.230 Findings and Fixes

no 5.0 leak for the 8220 :(

thanks for the info Dave and TempermentalMan, i'll know what to keep an eye out for if the 8220 gets a 5.0 leak

Like I said, my 8230 is NOT active right now, so I have no real way to tell as the only thing that could be different would be the radio signal (it LOOKS 100% identical).

To be honest, I had ABSOLUTELY zero problems with 4.6.1.234 that it shipped with. I mean nary a random reboot or lockup.

Any word on a hybrid for this yet?

*EDIT* I did notice that the overall size of the 8230 and 8330 .230 folders are the same? Will 8330 java files be compatible?


I change back and forth between the storm and the pearl flip so I'm hoping this works well

It might. Only way to know is to try since I don't think anyone else has.

Well the answer is NO... not that it does anything bad just apploader says no software is found for that device. An hybrid builder may be able to do it but I just copied the java files for the lyr 8330 230 hyrbid

actually i figured out what I did wrong. I just loaded the files... we will see what happens. Seems to be working fine so hey looks like I might have a working 230/238/287 hybrid. I let everyone know tomorrow if it works better or worse!

Just an FYI...I've reloaded the official OS on both flips we have here. There were several issues that I pointed out in an earlier thread. Hopefully they will be resolved very soon.

What I tried didn't work. Apparently there is a file that is responsible for the keyboard and weather or not suretype is available. If you copy the hybrid files from the 8330 then you loose suretype and you can not double tap while in a masked password area so in other words needs someone who actually does hybrids to do this.

Has anyone figured out the work around for appworld yet?
