daughters 8110 error 507 no OS
My daughters 8110 had error 102, managed to wipe it using BBSAK and now have error 507. This as far as I'm aware means it's ready to accept the new OS. I have tried numerous ways to fix this including:
- Using BBSAK
- Using BB apploader in common files
- Using desktop manager
Each time there is no OS available to add to 8110.
I feel like I'm going mental:Eyecrazy:, any help would be much appreciated.

We need to verify that you have an OS that is compatible with your daughters device downloaded to the PC that is configured with the Desktop Manager.
Open Desktop Manager. Once DM is initialized, select the Help Tab. This should now display a drop down menu. Selct "About Blackberry Desktop Manager".
This action will open the "About Desktop Manger" window.
Select the Tab "Device Software" located to the far right of the window. This will list which Operating System is currently installed on the PC.
If you will, list which operating system this is displaying then we can proceed from there.
Thanks for responding so quickly. I should probably mention that I use an 8320 which syncs with my PC, and I've been trying to use my PC to resolve the issue - I wasn't sure if that would work or if each BB needed it's own machine/user.

Yes....This is where an issue could occur.
We need to designate which Operating System Desktop Manager wants to work with. This will correlate to the device you area having an issue with.
I post a write up of my suggestions in a few moments
This is what I would do.
First, Select Start on the PC. Scroll and select Control Panel.
Now select Add/Remove Programs.
Typically, your software should be listed in alphabetical order. Having said that, look for software that starts of stating Blackberry. You should have at least 2 pieces of software that incorporates the use of Blackberry.
Typically the first line instance of Blackberry software is your Desktop Manager. We will leave this piece of software alone. Look at the next line of Blackberry software. This should denounce your Operating Software for the device you typically service or use.
If this Blackberry software listed here is different then the device in question (ie daughters 8110) then we will need to remove this software and download the correct software for the 8110.
Are you able to follow that logic?
If so , I can help you find the right software for the 8110 as well. Then we can download the 8110 software and install it onto your PC and then install it onto your daughters 8110.
To try and keep it simple I've screenshot my add/remove so that you can see exactly what I have:

Yeah..Right there is the answer. You do not have an OS loaded onto your PC.

This is the Latest OS for that device I think.
AT&T released this however you should be able to use it if you delete the vendor file.
Make sure your Desktop Manger is closed.
Then download the OS. It should download into your Download folder on your PC. Once the download is finished, find the OS in your Download folder. I think the file name will be something to the effect of * File name: 8110M_PBr4.5.0_rel252_PL18.104.22.168_A22.214.171.124_AT&T. exe
The file size will be * File size: 97.67MB
Select this and your PC should then install this OS into Desktop Manager.
At this point you need to find the Vendor File and delete it. then empty your recycle bin.
Once finished with all of the above you should then be ready to install this OS into your daughters 8100.

Although we use Orange in the UK I downloaded from AT&T and then removed the vendor as discussed and now we're up and running.
I'll always turn to this site in the future.
